John Best is a well-known market data industry expert with over 35 years Financial Markets experience. He is renowned for insightful commentary and a deep understanding of market data, trading systems and vendors.

After graduating, John took a post as Junior Lecturer and Research Assistant in the Computing Dept. of King’s College London. John subsequently moved into the financial markets arena; his experience includes a six-year stint at Salomon Brothers, gaining responsibility for networks and dealing rooms across Europe, and six years with Dow Jones Telerate where he undertook presales support and product management for the Trading Room Systems division being responsible for the Market Data Platforms and Global Order Passing System. He then moved back to the client environment with West LB, developing a range of systems utilising market data including Real-Time Market Risk Management and a Virtual Dealing Room Systems linking multiple offices and functions.

John has been an independent consultant for the last fifteen years, working primarily with banks, exchanges and brokers, getting the best from their investment in market data systems and technology. He also counts many vendors as clients who use his consulting expertise and resources to assist with their system testing and support. John has recently been involved in a number of Market Data technology and data selection projects for his clients, as well as advising a range of Fin Tech and Insure Tech companies.

David has a long career in the Market and Reference data industry, gained with leading UK technology companies and financial markets’ participants. He has delivered global solutions covering a range of assets classes and data types. His experience has touched on the commercial arrangements for purchasing and using data as well as the technical issues around its capture, creation, distribution and display. He has a broad exposure to the different players in the financial markets. David is a technical innovator at the cutting edge of FinTech, building and managing teams creating successful products used internationally. As a consultant and manager, he enjoys developing and supporting people in their work, improving their understanding and skills. He aims to deliver clear, straightforward and engaging training. David enjoys FinTech development, working with start-ups and creating new products.
